Internet Swing Changes

We all sometimes need some extra help with our golf, especially when we are struggling and can’t get a lesson for a few weeks. Therefore You-Tube becomes very popular for that quick fix and trying to find a relevant video for what YOU believe is the problem.

So, what are the advantages and disadvantages of trying to fix your fault with YouTube?

Advantanges

Many of the YouTubers are PGA Professionals so have a good understanding and knowledge of the golf swing. YouTube is also super accessible and accurate information for anyone who needs a tip for hitting a certain shot or something they feel they are struggling with. As well as this, the videos are usually only around 5-10 minutes long so must be concise and clear to enable you to understand what they are explaining.

Disadvantages

Although the information that they are giving are accurate, is it really the correct information for you and how will you
know? Firstly, do you understand your golf swing enough to know what the fault is you need to be looking at? Secondly, is the drill or change that they are offering going to work for you or are you going to be changing something that doesn’t need to be changed!!

As coaches we are very much aware of both the positive and negative impacts that watching these videos can have however it is important for you to know and understand how these videos can impact on your own golf. This is why it is essential to have a lesson with your own coach on a one to one basis, as we can help you understand your own golf swing, so if you are a user of YouTube, you can get the most out of your game.
